Amazon Increases its Dominance in Apparel Sales

In the past year, just under 80% of Prime members stated they bought clothing or shoes on Amazon, almost double the rate of non-Prime members at 42%, CoreSight reported. Amazon has not yet shaken off the discounter tag, as almost 43% of participants informed CoreSight they expect to constantly pay less than full rate for apparel when shopping on the platform. The results from the CoreSight survey point to a possible peaking in clothing for Amazon.

In the past year, simply under 80% of Prime members said they purchased clothes or footwear on Amazon, almost double the rate of non-Prime members at 42%, CoreSight reported. Amazon has not yet shaken off the discounter tag, as nearly 43% of respondents told CoreSight they expect to constantly pay less than complete price for clothing when shopping on the platform. The results from the CoreSight study point to a possible peaking in apparel for Amazon.
