Sluggish Holiday Sales for Kohls Despite Help From Amazon

Last year, Kohl’s partnered with Amazon to bring more individuals into physical stores. Previously in 2019, Kohl’s and market experts estimated that Kohl’s would see a specific amount of earnings for Q4. Unsurprisingly, Kohl’s saw plenty of foot traffic, but not the level of expected impulse and other purchases from that traffic.

Last year, Kohl’s partnered with Amazon to bring more people into physical stores. Earlier in 2019, Kohl’s and market analysts estimated that Kohl’s would see a specific amount of revenues for Q4. Unsurprisingly, Kohl’s saw plenty of foot traffic, but not the level of expected impulse and other purchases from that traffic. Kohl’s is pleased by the boost of traffic that has resulted from the Amazon returns. Without adapting, such as by accepting Amazon returns, Kohl’s would have lost far more.
